an abandoned man who has given up
Last Step

He looks across
A barren room
That was so full of life
Companions
Allies
They are gone
Dead
Or turned on him
He looks at the coil of rope
On the floor for his solution
He screams
They will never miss me
He grabs the rope
Ties the noose
And slowly
Walks to the front yard
To the tree he climbed as a child
He climbs once more
The final time
No turning back now
He ties the rope
Tightly to the tree
He puts the noose
Around his neck
He breathes in deep
And takes his final step
Now he will never be forgotten
