Let there be peace!
Peace Be Onto You

World War II was a war to end wars.
That's what they said when settling scores.

But somehow it seems, the job wasn't done
Since war after war gets run and rerun.

I gave the Air Force five years of my life,
Forecasting the weather, avoiding the strife.

Kill or be killed? That wasn't for me.
But lots of my friends died over the sea.

I passed up Korea, Viet Nam and all,
Though through The Reserves I was on call.

So now I look back through decades galore,
And still I ponder: Why do we have war?

Some day, some way, let all of us pray,
That the world live in peace, day after day.

May those that we hate become our close friends
May nations and people soon make ammends.

Population control? Shooting a brother?
Is it our mission, to kill one another?

Let's pray for peace and a world that's true,
Where you love all others and all others love you.
