An Encounter with an evil elf.
The Mighty Telf of Brandywine
By Robin Scott Johnson

While wandering in the Brandywine Wood I came upon an elf,
When I asked him his name he declared that it was Telf,
He had a wooden arm and wore a felt stuffed hat,
But when I told him my name he just looked at me and spat;
“Who are you to come into my wood,
I work very hard to keep it quiet and good,
If you don’t leave I’ll have to get mean,
And what I means is you’ll lose your self esteem!”
I laughed at Telf and mocked his tiny frame,
“If you can do that then you’ll win glory and fame,
Yet I don’t believe you can so I’ll dismiss your mocking,”
And with this he stood up and he stuck his chest out choking,
“Abalutious Charmus, Estemous Kaput”
He began shouting as he stuck out one foot!
All of a sudden I felt alone and miserable,
To want to go sailing in a Hindenburg Dirigible,
I began to sulk and moan,
And went home alone,
However it was indeed the last time,
I ventured in the wood of the Brandywine.
