a warrior captured by those who walked away poem
Guillotine

Is my life ending
Can’t you hear my bell toll
My executioner is coming
It took him years to capture me
He has left me in chains
I’ve been here before
I just have no strength to escape this time
Those who can save me
walked away
The ones trying aren’t strong enough
I’m here
They’ve locked me in
I stare up at the blade
I hear the screaming sheath
coming down……….
