A poem of terror forced from the darkness
Fear in the darkness

Alone in this place,
With the night sky coming,
The stars seem dull,
The moon barely showing.

My time has arrived,
As it does each night,
I must face it once more,
I could never fight.

My heart keeps pounding,
It echoes through my soul,
Can anything save me,
I have lost all control.

I feel it now,
Baring down on my life,
Can nothing slow it,
So much anger and strife.

The darkness surrounds me,
I am forever alone,
The silence holds me,
I can’t find my way home.

With the golden light of hope,
The sun has arrived,
My prayers have been answered,
I have once again survived.

For the fear has gone,
With the sun's open plain,
But then I remember,
That the time, shall come, again.
