A poem of a best friend passing away right after a fight
Why did you leave
when I was just starting to believe,
in a thing called best friends?
Just as we get started it all ends.

We were starting to be like sisters.
We had seen many twisters.
We made it through every last one.
We did not run.

After our final fight,
I thought it would be all right.
I thought we would make up.
I never imagined our time would be used up.

I wish I could take back,
that awful attack.
The first time I ever yelled at you,
I didn't have a clue.
That it would be the last time to,
make things anew.

Now you've gone to fly free,
no longer a detainee.
This cruel earth you have left,
your absence will be felt.

I will carry your memory in my heart.
Never again will we be apart.
