An autobiographical poem.
Water the grass with your sandpaper eyes,
Open the shed with your quarantine book.
Rake up the yard with your toolbox disguise,
Pull out the weeds with your principle hook.
Dust off the blinds with your turtleneck lies,
Your prosthetic stare, Your threats to the cook.
I know you don't care, I know you despise,
But do you surmise that you're worse than you look?

Wrap up the hose with your comfortable square,
Fill in the gap with your newspaper grief,
Break down the bridge with your paranoid flare
Take out the trash with your tortured belief.
Survey the house with your turbulance prayer,
Your segregate stain, your hail to the chief,
The spark in your brain, The plan you prepare,
You still aren't aware that you think like a thief.

Pierce all the nights with your president aim,
Warm up the days with your good angel fleece.
Dig in the sun with your overture claim,
Bury the moon with your martyr police.
Melt all the snow with your orthodox name,
Your cellophane sphere, your bad luck release.
The guilt in your ear, the genocide blame,
It's more than a game when you don't play for peace.

Where have you gone with your thoroughbread fear?
When did you save up your chivalry need?
What did you learn from your misery year?
Why did you run from your sympathy greed?
Who did you hurt with your magnetic spear,
Your driving through joke, your faraway speed?
The letters you wrote, your 6 AM tears,
Just salt on the piers once the waters recede.

Your wine bottle wits don't know what you broke.
Your new morning terms don't say what you made.
Your rusty coumpas can't see through the smoke.
Your fugitive saint is always afraid.
Your terrified tongue that always mispoke.
Your sign of the cross, your personal shades.
You laugh at your loss, you breathe when you choke,
So who could provoke The Jack of All Trades?
