I was out past midnight hipnotized by the moon
Its rays are stained with darkness
Its shadows fall so cold
Its stories I wish to harness
Stories of battles old

This moon staring back at me
It hides its legend well
Of times before my fathers
Before they died and fell

Gently obscured by clouds
Looking though the trees
In times of bitter ignorance
The moon was looking at me

Th moon it looks so small
When how vast the heavens are
The power of its charming
Beauty beyond the stars

And if before this moon
My final breath I take
I'll plead before the heavens
That night shall ne'r break

And if before the heavens
My pleading shant appeal
I'll cry before the moon
Till radiance shall reveal
