Poem written for Stormy's poetry newsletter and contest.
Drowning Desperation

In doubt I look, alone, outside my bedroom window
I wonder if we can ever live in peace again
I hear the blood-drenched ground cry out for the end of war and suffering
I cry a silent tear for those who have fallen, and those who've still yet to die
Breaking the silence, comes a psychic thread
Warning me of some injustice yet to be

Dwelling in the trees, the fallen angel, lonely sits
Drowning in his desire for revenge
Alone he sits, reminiscing of days long past
His mind wanders to that fateful day,
When loss and grief drive him to desperation
Dreaming of the day when in a duel, he becomes the victor
