An analogous personal look at a soured relationship
A backwards look while turning to face
the mystery of a forgotten time
Haunting the very memory of
What was and is no more

Its season came and went
like the passing of the leaves
Falling from the golden trees
upon the grass tresses

Winter came and went
When eyes spoke only true
Arms entwined in tender embrace
In what was not to last

The cold hands of fate
took away the fragile flower
sealed by a kiss
but not by desire

It was not meant to be
For there was another
The choice made
No room to recover

Thus the bitter draught
was sipped slowly over time
Holding a lesson to be learned
by those unfortunate

Time goes on
and memory fades
Feelings heal
within the passage of days

Yet nothing is ever the same.
