Few chapters in a novel that is part of a trilogy - probably best described as a romance.
This book is, predominantly, set on a ranch where Loren hopes to expand her half way house facilities to enable a greater number of runaways and disadvantaged young people to benefit.

With the assistance of Joel’s father she has gathered specialists from many different fields of medicine, all specialising in the treatment and care of children and adolescents.

Joel is a reluctant participant and has preconceived ideas on Loren’s ability to get the project off the ground.

The initial chapters are seen from both perspectives.

The participants all have strong personalities and while there are misunderstandings the majority of characters are handled (I hope!) sympathetically. There is a strong story line the reader is unaware of for several chapters.

As the story unfolds Joel realises there is more to Loren than a beautiful exterior. In addition Loren begins to see the man Joel can be if he is prepared to take a few emotional risks.

When Joel learns of her background he feels totally inadequate to deal with the ramifications of the past.

How they cope with their insecurities and build the foundation for a continuing life together is the story I have tried to tell.
