Halloween is a time of enjoyment for both children and adults, a time when an individual is free to use his/her creativity and let their minds run rampant. It's an occasion where children seek treasures from door to door, and where an adult can put on his/her costume and attend numerous parties or merely stay at home and greet the little ones. Halloween is a time for one's imagination to run wild, an occasion to bring out the horror so many enjoy.

I think what I enjoy most about Halloween is the thrill children get going door to door in their costumes and the smiles seen on their faces when the goodies are placed into their buckets or bags. It brings sheer pleasure to me when a little one attempts to frighten me when I answer the doorbell and tell the child how they surely have the best costume I've seen that evening, and how that comment brings a smile to his/her face.

As for the adults, I enjoy attending the parties and observing the creativity of the costumes worn and the way on this night he/she feels they can express the child-like nature within that they cannot on a day to day basis.

Halloween...a time for imagination and fantasy, a time for ghosts, goblins, witches, and other horrors to be set free! That's what Halloween means to me.
