Exactly 100 words. Take Two.
          Ambulances arrived, their sirens blaring.

Tom watched as two burly paramedics loaded his wife’s gurney. Still
shaking, he sat up front. Outside, city lights reflected off slick sidewalks, flashing
like disco balls on passing car windows. It became strange entertainment for a
frightened soul.

Finally, bright hospital signs came into view. Emergency personnel
swarmed to help. Wheeled inside, Susan suddenly regained consciousness. With her
head heavily bandaged, swollen eyes barely open, she called out, “Where is my
husband? We were together!”

“Right here, darling,” said the world’s happiest man, sobbing and laughing
all at once, “I’ll never leave your side.”
