Work in progress, actually, about American society. Constructive criticism appreciated!
The land of the so-called free
Looks like it’s just a bunch of egoistic society
Persecutions of love and hate
Nothing’s right, how can it be so great?

Offers of money and power,
Threats of our country’s darkest hour;
Looks like we’ve changed for the worse
Neglecting those who dare to offer a kindly verse.

Tell me again why love’s so wrong
Why do same sex pairings not belong?
It’s all a bunch of terrorist society,
No one’s really into much sobriety.

Differences in appearance and living,
Variations in manners and reasons for giving.
Arguments of belief, religion
Disagreements carried off on the wings of a pigeon

Why should we fight for what’s already won?
The battle’s over, the fight’s been fought, it’s done.
It’s all a bunch of specialist society
Seems no one knows the definition of propriety

In the land of the so-called free,
It’s just a bunch of society –
Rights and wrongs,
Seems like no one really belongs.
In the land of the so-called free,
We’re all victims, where no one can agree.
