Something I wrote, after watching christmas movies too soon.
Sparkles in the air
As the chill lingers
Bells ringing
The sound waivers
Crunching of snow
On frozen concrete
Christmas came to town

Lights shimmer
In frosted windows
Carolers singing
Liquid notes
Fire crackles
With special cheer
Christmas came to town

A mother wearily rests
From love’s pain
Straw rustles, unseen
A father watches
With wonder and love
A tiny babe sleeps
And Christmas came to town
