A song about slavery, more mature than anything ever I've written in the past.
When I was young my father sang a song to me
He said their was this sad thing called slavery
About people who weren't treat like they were free
He sang of how they were exchanged for money
And if they said no they were ignored quite blindly

When I grew up to a decent age in my teens
I started watching films that depicted such scences
Where all the slaves were fed nothing but plain soybeans
Whilst rape was committed for fun to the pre-teens
Why was this just done to those with different genes?

I later found my own grandpa had owned one slave
Turns out he helped send a man to an early grave
I don't why that was the way he choose to behave
But I must admit it gave me a sick shockwave
Why couldn't he have acted as though he was brave?

I know theirs things which have no excuse
Like the persecution of the Jews
Slavery and racial abuse
I know theirs things which have no excuse.
