Am I to blame for the moons destruction?Should I be ashamed for destroying a smile so pure
Think back to all the days,
when I could find that moon,
point it out in the sky,
and say “it will come soon.”

The moon will come soon,
and it will make everything right,
the moon will come soon,
but I will fight.

I found the moon,
when I needed it most,
but now the moon is shattered,
and there’s no reason to boast.

The moon began to smile,
and I matched its glory,
I would out shine it someday,
but that’s a long story.

It was a long story,
a sad one at best,
if only it was a tall tale,
and I could only jest

A happier day,
when I was only seventeen,
It would come soon,
but I couldn’t have seen.

It came nearer,
and pushed against the sky,
the waters began to raise,
but I never questioned why.

Think back to all the days,
when I could find that moon,
point it out in the sky,
and say “it will come soon.”

The moon will come soon,
and it will make everything right,
the moon will come soon,
but I will fight.

Growing ever closer,
it began to smile wider,
I smiled just the same,
as it came nearer.

People grew wide with terror,
and the alarms began to blare,
I smiled and smiled,
but their pain I did share.

The moon was tearing,
the world piece by piece,
there was no stopping it,
no communication for peace.

So I stood strong,
and looked face to face,
with the grin from ear to ear,
I will not leave this place!

Think back to all the days,
when I could find that moon,
point it out in the sky,
and say “it will come soon.”

The moon will come soon,
and it will make everything right,
the moon will come soon,
but I will fight.

I shouted to the heavens,
that were not so far away,
and the moon backed off,
and I knew it wouldn’t stay.

The moon began to saunter,
away from the earth,
but then suddenly it blew,
not knowing of its worth.

With my lungs on fire,
and hatred behind the smile,
I didn’t know what to do,
I felt as if defiled

I smiled and cried,
as the shards flew about,
I didn’t know how to feel,
I couldn’t trust my mouth.

Think back to all the days,
when I could find that moon,
point it out in the sky,
and say “it will come soon.”

The moon will come soon,
and it will make everything right,
the moon will come soon,
but I will fight.

The moon was there,
for me when I needed it,
I cared for it soo much,
Night now only starlit.
