Brief poem on the ethereal
I had a premonition
I saw it in the smoke
That rose wisp by wisp
From the burning letters

It told me of you
And it told me of ghosts
And that you were
One and the same

I sat and stared
And made gestures in the wind
Listening to snow on the radio
I sat and stared
And made gestures in the wind
Listening to snow on the radio

I have a theory now
Of you and your diary
And of you and
You’re place in mine

You’re images do you no justice
You’re reflection a mere lie

I will then be satisfied
By the you in my imagination

I recall it on a daily basis
And reflect on it when I’m most aware
When my thoughts are of someone else’s making

And forget you before I wake
