What would you do if you had to go through it all again?
MID LIFE CRISIS

It's a proven fact that we're all living longer,
Medical science is making us stronger
and more resilient to the ills of the old,
Thus giving us more of the years that are gold.

Sounds rather nice, there is lots to do,
Before that final long journey is due.
Three score and ten is no longer life's span,
You may live ten more years, if the Lord says you can.

What has me concerned, I think it's now true,
That middle age - dire years for me and for you,
Is not between ages forty and fifty,
It too has been raised ten more years. More's the pity.

If you have passed fifty, middle age should be finished.
Why then are some people now being punished?
Wait now till you're sixty for the crisis to end,
By the time you get there, you'll be right round the bend.

If you've already been through your own mid life crisis,
And content to be left to your own devices,
According to science, it is now quite plain,
If you're still under sixty, mid life's coming again!
