Made this poem while thinking about my Academic Decathlon subject topic on China.
Last time to share rice bowls
Last time to hold an umbrella together
While walking around the fishpond
Between war and knowledge
We decide the civil service exam
Is the best way to go
If he fails,
He becomes a soldier
If he passes,
He still leaves me
At least no danger will follow
The outcome of our future
Hangs in the balance
Of hope and chance
