| FADE IN INT. HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – NIGHT SARAH BROWN, a young girl no more than seventeen, sits on the couch watching a movie. The computer sits near by. BLING ON THE SCREEN: A message box appears BACK TO SCENE Sarah picks up the remote control and pauses the movie. She gets up from the couch and walks over to the computer. Sarah sits down at the computer desk. ON THE SCREEN: Words appear in the box reading: “I’m coming” Another message appears: “Prepare for my arrival” Words appear in the message box: “And also your death” BACK TO SCENE The phone RINGS. Sarah jumps out of her skin, she gets up from the chair and walks across the room. Sarah picks up the phone. SARAH Hello? A MAN’S VOICE answers MAN’S VOICE (Through phone) Hello! SARAH Who is this? MAN’S VOICE You tell me Sarah glances the Caller ID next to the phone. INSERT – CALLER ID A message reads: “Caller Unknown” BACK TO SCENE SARAH I don’t know? MAN’S VOICE GUESS Sarah glances over the Caller ID, the message still reads: “Caller Unknown” SARAH I’ve got to go. Sarah SLAMS the phone onto the receiver she walks back to the couch. Sarah grabs the remote and resumes the movie; she places the remote to the side. BLING Sarah grabs the remote and pauses the movie. SARAH Crap! Sarah gets up from the couch and walks to the computer. ON THE SCREEN: A red message appears reading: “You can’t hide from me” Sarah types on the keyboard. Words appear: “What do you want?” Another message appears: “I will be watching you” BACK TO SCENE The phone RINGS. Sarah shudders with fear. She walks over to the phone; she picks it up from the receiver. SARAH Hello? The MAN’S VOICE from before answers MAN’S VOICE Hey Sarah! SARAH Who is this? How do you know my name? The phone WAILS with noise. Sarah looks at the Caller ID a message reads: “Unknown” The phone DROPS from Sarah’s ear and hits the floor. The WAILS from the phone fade. MAN’S VOICE (Barely heard) Sarah! Sarah picks up the phone and SLAMS it onto the receiver. The phone RINGS instantly. SARAH Shit! Sarah answers the phone SARAH (Terrified) Hello? MAN’S VOICE Hello! SARAH What do you want? BLING The phone DIES. Sarah walks slowly towards the computer she sits in the chair. Sarah is terrified her eyes scan the computer. ON THE SCREEN: A message box appears followed by typing: “I’m on my way” BACK TO SCENE Sarah jumps from the chair she backs away from the computer. A BANG is heard. Sarah searches the room it’s completely normal. Sarah WHIMPERS. Sarah picks up the phone it RINGS. She walks towards another room. INT. HOUSE – KITCHEN – NIGHT The phone RINGS again. Sarah WHIMPERS. Sarah answers the phone it RINGS. SARAH What do you want? The MAN’S VOICE from before responds MAN’S VOICE Oh you knew it was me. SARAH What do you want? MAN’S VOICE I just want to rip you open, spill your blood. SARAH What kind of sick fuck are you? MAN’S VOICE What do you mean? SARAH Leave me alone! MAN’S VOICE You never answered my question! SARAH Just leave me alone! Sarah SLAMS the phone onto the receiver. BLING Sarah exits. INT. HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – NIGHT Sarah cautiously walks to the computer. ON THE SCREEN: A message box as words appear: “You never answered my question!” BACK TO SCENE Sarah COLLAPSES into the chair she grabs a hold of it she struggles to stand on her feet. SARAH (To self) This is just some sick joke everything will be okay soon! Sarah stands, she peers onto the screen. ON THE SCREEN: A message box as words appear: “This isn’t a joke. IT’S REAL!” BACK TO SCENE Sarah searches over her shoulder. The room is completely still. The drapes flap in the breeze. Sarah runs towards the phone she grabs it she dials. The phone RINGS. Sarah looks at the phone. SARAH (Weakly) Hello? MAN’S VOICE You ready to cooperate? SARAH What? MAN’S VOICE You cooperate and I’ll leave you alone! SARAH And if I don’t… MAN’S VOICE You sure you want to know? Sarah nods her head slowly. Her breath is visible she SHIVERS in fear. MAN’S VOICE I’ll give you a clue. Sarah turns her head she faces large windows. An object is TOSSED into the window the glass SHATTERS. Sarah places the phone onto the counter pieces of glass are scattered across the floor. Sarah walks towards the window glass CRUNCHES beneath her feet. Sarah sees a brick buried by pieces of glass. INSERT – BRICK Blood DRIPS across the white surface it reads: “What did I tell you?” BACK TO SCENE Sarah grabs the brick out from the glass. The VOICE comes from the phone on the counter. MAN’S VOICE (Evil) SARAH! Sarah walks backwards she grabs the phone from the counter. SARAH What the fuck is wrong with you? I don’t have time for this. Sarah hangs up the phone and places it on the counter. A black sleeve holding a knife appears through the cracked window. Thick black leather boots step into the room. Sarah QUIETLY steps towards the back door. Sarah steps outside and bolts the lock on the inside of the door. EXT. HOUSE – BACK LAWN – NIGHT The door closes. A DARK FIGURE emerges. Sarah SCREAMS Sarah BANGS on the door it won’t open. SARAH Crap! The DARK FIGURE approaches Sarah from behind. She JIGGLES the doorknob. SARAH Why won’t this door fucken open The DARK FIGURE continues to approach Sarah. Sarah BANGS on the door. SARAH Shit! The DARK FIGURE takes a knife out from his dark clothes. The DARK FIGURE SLITS Sarah’s throat, blood POURS out of her neck she COLLAPSES. The DARK FIGURE flicks the light switch darkening the room. The DARK FIGURE walks out of the room. The DOOR SLAMS behind him. INT. HOUSE - BEDROOM – NIGHT JACLYN SHAVONE, a young girl no older than sixteen stares into her closet. The breeze enters the room from the window. A MAN’s hand grabs the windowsill. Jaclyn SCREAMS. The man’s hand emerges onto the windowsill Jaclyn turns toward the window. JASON CRAWLS through the window. JACLYN What are you doing here? JASON I came to see you. JACLYN Was the police chasing you again? JASON No…I told you I stopped that a long time ago. I never broke that promise. JACLYN I’m glad you did…listen is there something you need? JASON No I told you. I came here to see you Jason gets up from the floor. JACLYN Could it wait? I’m tired and we have finals tomorrow. JASON Yea I know. But listen I think it’s time we did…you know. JACLYN I’m not ready yet. JASON Yea but think about it. You and I together, we can leave this place. JACLYN The year isn’t over. Jaclyn rubs her hand through Jason’s evil looking hair. JACLYN This will pass they always do. JASON But I think it’s time that we followed through with something. The phone RINGS. JACLYN Who can that be at this hour—- JASON Are you seeing someone else? JACLYN Don’t be ridiculous. Why would you think that? Maybe it’s Paul! The phone continues to RING. Jaclyn approaches the doorway. JASON No, let your father get it. The sound of WATER RUNNING is heard. Jaclyn turns towards Jason. JACLYN It might be important. JASON What could it be? The phone continues to RING. Jaclyn rushes out of the room JASON Jaclyn no! Jaclyn turns towards Jason JACLYN Jason what’s the matter? Jaclyn exits. Jason has a strange look on his face he eyes the door; it CREAKS shut. INT. HOUSE – HALLWAY – NIGHT Jaclyn rushes towards the stairs when the phone continues to RINGS. Jaclyn freezes in her tracks she SHIVERS. She makes her way back to the bedroom. INT. HOUSE – BEDROOM - NIGHT JACLYN Jason? Jaclyn enters the room and finds Jason has gone. The window left open a breeze blows through the drapes. The phone continues to RING. Jaclyn exits. INT. HOUSE – LIVING ROOM - NIGHT JACLYN Hello? MAN’S VOICE (Creepy) Hello! JACLYN What do you want? MAN’S VOICE I want to see you. Jaclyn hangs up the phone and TOSSES it onto the couch. The phone RINGS. Jaclyn picks up the phone she SIGHS. JACLYN Hello? Paul that you The MAN’S VOICE from before responds MAN’S VOICE Hello JACLYN What do you want? (Shouting) Jason! Jaclyn exits. INT. HOUSE – HALLWAY - NIGHT Jaclyn walks up the stairs she holds the portable phone. Jaclyn searches for Jason. The hall is fairly large, completely in darkness. JACLYN Jason? Jaclyn continues to search for Jason. The hall remains perfectly still. Jaclyn enters the other room. INT. HOUSE – BEDROOM - NIGHT MAN’S VOICE Your boyfriend can’t help you now. JACLYN How do you know he’s my boyfriend? MAN’S VOICE I also can tell you where he is, listen! Jaclyn hears DESPERATE PLEAS from Jason through the phone JACLYN Where is he…what do you want from him? MAN’S VOICE I want a little chat. Why don’t you look out the window? Jaclyn looks out the window and sees a pool of blood covering the sidewalk. JACLYN What is it that you want? MAN’S VOICE It’s not Jason I’m after. He’s my way of getting to my target... YOU! Jaclyn WHIMPERS. Jaclyn SHIVERS she sits in the corner. The lights go out. A few seconds pass when the lights resume. A BUSY SIGNAL is heard from the phone. Jaclyn looks at the alarm clock, the numbers blinking. Jaclyn catches her breath. She looks through the blinds out the window pondering. JACLYN (Quietly) Jason…where are you? Jaclyn sits on her bed CLUTCHING her pillow to her chest. Jaclyn CRIES. INT. HOUSE - BEDROOM – DAY Jaclyn awakes. She approaches the bathroom when the phone RINGS. Jaclyn is terrified. She cautiously answers the phone. MANDY (Through phone) Hello Jaclyn’s friend MANDY is on the phone. Jaclyn SIGHS of relief. JACLYN Hi Mandy MANDY Hey, I was wondering about this weekend JACLYN About your party MANDY Yea. Did you think about it? Jaclyn searches through her closet she continues to talk on the phone. JACLYN Well I don’t know—- Jaclyn grabs her jacket from the closet she looks through the pockets of the jacket. She grabs her keys from the side pocket. MANDY Why not? JACLYN I got some creepy phone call last night. Jaclyn grabs her stuff for school together. Jaclyn exits the room she continues to talk to MANDY. INT. HOUSE – HALLWAY - NIGHT Jaclyn walks down the hall she continues to talk on the phone with Mandy. MANDY Hey, did you talk to Jason last night at all? JACLYN Yea he was here last night, why do you ask? Jaclyn walks down the staircase. MANDY He was mentioned in some murder case last night—- JACLYN Is he dead? MANDY Dead? They think he’s a killer INT. HOUSE – LIVING ROOM - NIGHT Jaclyn continues to walk while talking on the phone she places her keys onto the end table. INSERT – KEYS They lie on the end table completely motionless. BACK TO SCENE JACLYN How would he be a killer? MANDY You know Sarah Brown? JACLYN Yea I know her. What does that have to do with Jason being a killer? MANDY Sarah was the girl they think he murdered. JACLYN How was she murdered? MANDY No one really knows CLICK. JACLYN Hold on! I’ve got someone on the other line Jaclyn switches the line. The MAN’S VOICE from before answers JACLYN Hello? MAN’S VOICE Hello Jackie, do you remember me from last night. JACLYN What the fuck did you do with Jason? MAN’S VOICE You’ll find your boyfriend during the day I’m sure. The phone DIES. Jaclyn switches back to Mandy. JACLYN Mandy, it’s starting again. MANDY What is? JACLYN I just got a threatening phone call and maybe-- MANDY It’s probably just a prank call don’t worry about it. JACLYN I hope so MANDY I’ll see you at school okay. I got to go bye CLICK Jaclyn hangs up the phone. She walks back to the end table she grabs her set of keys and walks out the front door. EXT. SCHOOL – DAY Jaclyn approaches Mandy. The STUDENTS are walking onto campus. JACLYN Hi MANDY Hi so the killer got Jason? JACLYN Yea. I don’t know how though. MANDY Exactly what did happen? JACLYN I left the room to get the door and the phone began to ring. I went to my room and Jason was gone. MANDY And the killer called you this morning? JACLYN And last night Mandy and Jaclyn are approaching the entrance as reporters swarm the campus. JACLYN I never thought something like this would happen here MANDY Yea I know right Mandy and Jaclyn walk past a REPORTER talking to a camera. REPORTER Just last night Sarah Brown was found murdered in her home and Jason Shanowski mysteriously disappeared. JACLYN I can’t believe Sarah Brown was murdered. MANDY She would be the last one you expect would be killed…I have to find my guidance counselor; I’ll see you tonight? JACLYN Yea all right (Weakly) See you later Mandy leaves. Jaclyn approaches STEVE. JACLYN How is it going? STEVE All of this is such a shock JACLYN I’m so sorry Jaclyn pats Steve across the back. STEVE It didn’t quite work out between us. Jaclyn and Steve sit down on a bench nearby. JACLYN Is everything okay? STEVE I guess. You just don’t think something this big would happen hear. JACLYN I know…are you going to Mandy’s party tonight? STEVE I guess I’ll be there. JACLYN The worst part of all this is how nobody is suspected. STEVE How was everything between you and Jason? JACLYN Everything was good…until he was taken away from me. I hope he is still alive but I know he won’t be. Jaclyn and Steve look into each other’s eyes. Jaclyn moves her lips towards Steve’s their lips touch. Jaclyn breaks the kiss she gets up from the bench. STEVE I’ll see you later? JACLYN Yea, I’ll be at Mandy’s. Bye Jaclyn leaves. Steve slumps on the bench, his head lowered as his hands cover his hair. Steve SIGHS. INT. SCHOOL – HALLWAY – DAY Jaclyn rushes towards Mandy who is at her locker putting her books away. JACLYN The best thing just happened! MANDY What…what happened? JACLYN Steve and I made out-- MANDY Steve Taylor? JACLYN Yes! MANDY How could that be he just lost his girlfriend. JACLYN He said it didn’t work out between them MANDY Well still. And you just lost your boyfriend JACLYN I didn’t lose him. He may still be out there…somewhere. Mandy SLAMS the locker shut and walks away. JACLYN (Shouting) Mandy! Come back here. Jaclyn STOMPS her feet she turns around and leaves. INT. SCHOOL – BATHROOM - DAY Jaclyn looks into the mirror and turns the faucet the water RUNS. Blood DRIPS from the ceiling she looks up to find a man’s body gut open. JACLYN GASPS. JACLYN Oh no! Jaclyn turns the faucet off. WATER DROPS at a steady pace from the faucet. Jaclyn looks behind her a stall door sways back and forth it CREEKS. Jaclyn’s heart is POUNDING she breaths HEAVILY, she covers her mouth and RACES out through the door. Jaclyn falls backwards near a pool of blood her hair almost touching it. Jaclyn jumps to her feet and STRUGLES to open the door. The door does not budge. JACLYN Oh no…please no! Jaclyn constantly BANGS on the door. JACLYN Hello! Can any body here me! Jaclyn continues to BANG on the door. JACLYN (Desperate) Is anybody out there? HELLO…HELP ME. Anybody…PLEASE help me. Jaclyn BANGS her head onto the wall and slides onto the floor. Jaclyn hears something as if an object was being scraped across the floor. Her ears pick up. Jaclyn crouches onto her stomach checking the stalls for feet; she goes back onto her feet. JACLYN (Weakly) Hello? Jaclyn SHIVERS as a silver object falls onto the floor from above. Jaclyn looks up and sees a DARK FIGURE wearing dark shabby clothes. Jaclyn PANICS. Jaclyn BANGS constantly on the door harder than before she SCREAMS for help. JACLYN Help? Please help me. Jaclyn turns her head and notices the knife next to her. Jaclyn SCREAMS. The lights flicker on and off. Jaclyn’s face turns white her eyes still. A SCREAM is heard. Jaclyn spots a window slightly open. The DARK FIGURE breathes HEVILY Jaclyn GULPS closes her eyes and runs to the other side of the room. Jaclyn struggles to open the window. The dark figure jumps down to the floor. Jaclyn shivers to her spine. Jaclyn CRIES as she pries the window open slightly. Jaclyn steps onto the radiator and squeezes through the tight opening. EXT. SCHOOL – FRONT LAWN – DAY Jaclyn struggles to slide out from the window. A DARK FIGURE can be seen chasing behind her with a knife. Jaclyn WHIMPERS. Jaclyn slides herself out from the window falling onto the grass. She looks into the bathroom to find the DARK FIGURE missing. JACLYN Shit! Jaclyn turns around, the FIGURE’s arm around her neck holding the knife. Jaclyn throws her elbow into the FIGURE’s arm knocking it down. Jaclyn RUNS. EXT. SCHOOL – PARKING LOT – DAY Jaclyn RUNS towards Mandy JACLYN (Out of breath) The killer was here. I saw the killer in the bathroom. MANDY Are you sure it was the killer? JACLYN Of course it was the killer he tried to kill me! An awkward SILENCE JACLYN I was alone in the bathroom and there was a body. MANDY Who Jason? JACLYN Jason! Oh my god. I hope not! Mandy’s cell phone RINGS she digs through her purse and answers it. MNADY Hello? MAN’S VOICE Hello, Jackie there? MANDY Hold on Mandy passes the phone to Jaclyn MANDY It’s for you JACLYN Hello? MAN’S VOICE Hello Jackie. To answer you question that wasn’t Jason JACLYN Then who was it? MAN’S VOICE Nobody that you know! JACLYN Okay…what is it that you want? MAN’S VOICE Just to tell you I’ll be near tonight. Jaclyn SHUDDERS with fear. The phone goes dead. MANDY Everything all right? JACLYN That was him? MANDY Who? JACLYN The killer! MANDY It was? JACLYN Yea…I think he’ll show up at the party. Mandy turns cold. She kneels onto the pavement shivering. She holds her hands to her head. A wind blows through her hair. JACLYN What are you doing out here anyway Mandy? You know were not supposed to leave the building. MANDY What are you doing out here then? JACLYN I told you—- The sound of SIRENS are heard as several police cars appear, followed by a few news vans. JACLYN What is going on? A door from one of the news vans is SLAMED open. A reporter, BRITTANY RAYMOMD jumps out followed by her cameraman, TJ. TJ records BRITTANY, she RUNS backwards towards the main entrance TJ follows. BRITTANY (To camera) There has been another attack in Groton, Rhode Island, here at the High School. Several POLICE OFFICERS run into the building followed by REPORTERS, CAMERA MEN and Brittany Jaclyn approaches a POLICE OFFICER. JACLYN Excuse me what is going on here? POLICE OFFICER A Knife has been found in a girl’s lavatory. You two should go inside. MANDY So you were telling the truth! JACLYN Yea I was. We should go find Paul and Steve. MANDY Okay. So you’re definitely coming to my party right? JACLYN Yea I’m coming and Steve said he’d come MANDY I just hope that was a prank call. JACLYN No it wasn’t. EXT. SCHOOL – FOOD AREA – DAY Mandy and Jaclyn rush towards Paul and Steve, they sit at a picnic table. PAUL What the hell is going on? MANDY They found a knife in one of the bathrooms. Paul turns to look at Mandy. MANDY Yea and it turns out Jackie was attacked by a killer. STEVE Everything all right? Jaclyn sits down and rests her head on the table. MANDY Maybe later. PAUL Doesn’t this whole thing seem a little odd at all? STEVE What do you mean? PAUL Come on think about it a murder here in Groton that’s not possible. STEVE Paul, Sarah’s dead. PAUL Nothing like that would happen here. MANDY Why would Sarah be murdered? STEVE Who knows? PAUL She wasn’t murdered I’m sure. JACLYN (To PAUL) What the fuck is wrong with you? PAUL This whole thing just seems a little out of the ordinary. STEVE Sarah’s dead. I don’t know what your smoking but this whole thing is real. Mandy sits down at the table. STEVE I don’t think anyone would want their fate to turn out like Sarah’s. A pen drops into the grass. Jaclyn looks underneath the table to see Paul’s thick boots, the same worn by the DARK FIGURE. JACLYN I got to go. Jaclyn gets up from the table and RUSHES inside. INT. SCHOOL – CAFETERIA – DAY Jaclyn sits at an empty table eyeing her friends outside. Her cell phone RINGS. JACLYN (Eying window) Hello? Jaclyn sees Paul and Steve both with a cell phone at the table. Mandy sits at the table. JACLYN Paul stop this joke-or what ever it is. It’s not funny Jaclyn looks out the window again and sees Paul hanging up the cell phone. MAN’S VOICE Who’s Paul? JACLYN Go away just leave me alone. MAN’S VOICE But Jaclyn don’t you want to know about Jason? JACLYN I don’t care anymore about Jason. MAN’S VOICE You don’t care that he is still alive. Jaclyn is frozen. MAN’S VOICE I knew you’d care. JACLYN What do you want with him? If you call again I’m calling the police MAN’S VOICE You would have done that already. I’ll see you tonight! The phone DIES. Jaclyn frightened runs out of a side door. |
