This is a short poem about depression and death.
The deafening silence fills the room,
Like a thick blanket it smothers the happy sounds,
With an almost tangible malevolence the joy ends,
Now all is quiet.

No more does the chorus of song fill the room,
No more does the happy laughter resonate through this place,
Now the people only silently cry,
Now all is quiet.

The light, which once came from the windows, now is faded,
Only darkness is here now,
Only sorrow,
Now all is quiet.

The happy sounds of children playing are gone,
All that is happy and joyful has vanished into the night,
Not even the memory of happiness remains,
Now all is quiet.
