Is the present world order any better than a jungle anarchy?
IN JUNGLE AND IN CIVILIZED WORLD

IN JUNGLE

IN JUNGLE

Once on the tiny hill side
Used to flow a tiny stream.
A tiny lamb came to it,
Drinking water was his dream.

It had a sweet baby face
That was tender and benign.
But then came a lion there
Who had an evil design.

O Lamb, thou creature so vile,
You are polluting water
That is meant to quench the thirst
Of mine, the jungle’s master?

Master, master, excuse me,
You are a bit mistaken.
You are up-stream, I only
Drink after you have taken.

Oh, yes, then said the lion
But about a month ago,
You did call me dirty names?
Unpunished you cannot go.

Master, master, excuse me
It seems you are again wrong.
I was born two weeks ago;
Four weeks is a bit too long.

The lion was worried that
His tender dinner might slip.
He said—“You talkative lamb
I will make you pay for it.”

“In addition to all this,
I have got another grouse.
For purpose of killing me
You have a gun in the house.”

The poor lamb kept on saying:
I have no house, have no gun.
But the lion said: Bring it.
I will teach you a lesson.

Saying so the big lion
Caught hold of him with one hand.
After feasting on it he
Looked for yet another lamb.

IN CIVILIZED WORLD

Once in barren desert side
There used to flow an oil stream.
Making use of its own oil
Was but poor Iraq’s dream.

Iraq wanted to sell oil,
But the cunning USA,
Seeing the oil was too much,
Wished to take it all away.

Listen thou, O vile Iraq,
I want to get this oil cheap.
You shall sell me on my terms,
You must so promise indeed.

Excuse me, the great US,
You are a bit mistaken.
In such matters always a
Joint decision is taken.

Oh, yes, then said the US,
You see, quite some time ago,
You decided for Euro
And you let the dollar go.

Excuse me, the great US,
You are now clearly wrong.
I must choose my currency.
This oil does to me belong.

In a spot the US was;
He could not let the oil slip.
“Saddam argumentative,
I will make you pay for it!”

“In addition to all this,
I have got another grouse.
You have got WMD
Hidden somewhere in your house.

Saddam said: Listen, I don’t
Have WMD weapon.
The US said: “Give to me”;
I will teach you a lesson.

Saying so the big US,
Bombed Iraq and got the oil.
Then it looked towards Iran
To obtain even more spoil.
