A GARDENER'S LOOK AT LIFE

In the early morning hours, I have reaped the rewards
that only a gardener can cherish and really understand.
The sunrise casts light upon the garden, in its full splendor,
bringing an essence of tranquility to the well-worked land.

I look at life through eyes of one who sees beyond the now,
to what will come, new spikes of lavender and royal blue.
I learned patience here, as new buds appear ever so slowly,
and in the twilight haze I have watched when rest was due.

All nature strikes a good balance, man and earth and sun;
raindrops and teardrops give plant and man a new sharing
of life itself, determined to transform each to beauty undenied.
We all need the nourishment of the sun, the rain and caring.
