Poem about a homeless woman.
Crouched in a circle of firelight
she craves to feel secure,
as winds animate the worst
dancing shadows for nightmares
She wishes for fanciful, fantasy

But where she endures open tonight
oh, darkness can claim the pure
and cold makes her fingers hurt
fending off midnights scare
She prays for warmth, whimsy

Watching fragments of glowing light
beckon her with dancing lure,
give up living this awful curse
cowering here, no one cares
Survive the night, fortuity

Instead unfold spirit''s eternal sight
beyond this, your fiery moor,
with truth to hold in glittery purse,
exchanged for what remains to share
Surrender this soul, vitality

My heart is shaken to see such plight
but deep within me there is no more
strength left even to feed, to nurse
my eyes frozen in distant stare
Only the moon reflects, impartiality
