A song sung once, that can’t be sung again.
A SONG I ONCE SANG: a sonnet—Award winner

I know my love that once I sang a song,
A song that we two did sing together.
Now you are not with me to sing along.
I fail those words, though I try to gather.

What use those words and those tunes are to me?
Even if I manage to sing somehow,
I’d simply lose my spirit’s harmony.
Memories deep in heart even are now.

Now that you are bestowed with heaven’s peace,
Why let now those memories agitate?
Don’t think I have forgotten you, no, please.
Your memories from my heart can’t abate.

The song I once sang for you and with you,
I cannot sing again, yes it is true.
