A short piece of introspective faith-based poetry as I've gone through life transitions.
The Journey

I am not the person I was yesterday,
Nor am I the person I will be tomorrow,
I live somewhere in between.
I am like a traveler on a journey
Who knows the ultimate destination,
Yet who does not know
the next step along the road.
What might I find around the next corner,
Or see beyond the next bend?
Why is the way not straight and predictable?
If I knew what was to come,
would I choose to go that way?
Even if the end was all for good?
Perhaps God knows that I would not,
That I would choose another path.
So he hides the road from my eye.
But I know that should I lose my way
He does not lose sight of me.
I will be safe in the hands of my Guide,
And will come at last to home.
