Just a little poem I wrote yesterday. Takes only one text message to get inspired :-]
Polaroid
For Toast

There’s something missing from this picture
And the tears that touch my eyes
The tell-tale hints of loneliness
Have one too many signs
Dread soaks this snapshot
With horror at its side
The pills litter the floor
I can’t take this step in stride
The vacant seat at the kitchen table
Haunts my morning life
Staring oh so longingly
At the blade of that sharpest knife
I found the photo yesterday
And I can’t remember when
Cause in it you were by my side
And you’re never coming back again
