"You're my angel in this living Hell"
“Can you please come visit me?” I begged “I’m really lonely and I’ve had a bad day and I just want a hug” I mumbled over the phone feeling tears slide slowly down my cheeks.
“Alright, I’ll be right over okay?” said his warm voice over the phone, just the sound of it could warm my heart in seconds.

It was forty five minutes later and I was sitting in the hospital next to a bed of all white and listening to the quiet blip of a heart monitor. Tears still slid silently down my cheeks as I held a hand injected with needles and tubes. I looked into his vibrant green eyes that contrasted all to well with his pale skin. This is all my fault kept echoing through my head as I looked at his battered condition. If only I hadn’t begged him to come see me I was being miserable, he would say it wasn’t my fault, that I should forgive myself and grow up. I picked up a sharpie and began writing on his sheet. I hoped the nurses wouldn’t mind but I need to express my feelings somehow.

I need you, you’re everything to me. Can’t you see it? I can’t breathe when you’re around all I do is smile. Smiling a truth that I never thought could happen. You’re always there for me and you can’t leave me alone! I need you, don’t leave me.
~ ‘Cause she said, I can only stay until the moon goes down, and he said, I wish this night would never end. Now they’re saying goodbye and the tears fall silently from his eyes. She said, I can only stay until the moon goes down, he said, I wish this night would never end. And the blade runs red across her wrist; he wished it would never come to this. The gun falls to the ground, he lies there with out a sound. She said, I can only stay until the moon goes down, he said, I wish this night would never end. All he wants is to see her face but alas, she beat him in the human race. ~ I need you, you’re not first! Please don’t go. When you wake up and read this, just remember you are my world and without you I won’t live. I can’t.

I sniffed slightly and stood up. It was eleven forty at night when I got home. I sat on the couch sipping coffee. At twelve I was startled awake as the phone rang. I grabbed for it and held it to my ear.
“’Ello?” I mumbled into the phone
“Hi, is this Kathryn-Marie?” asked a lady from the other end.
“Yeah” I said my mind spinning and not quite awake.
“He’s okay, and wishes to see you as soon as possible” she said. My brain clicked and I launched out of my chair dropping the phone I ran for the car. I sped all the way to the hospital and into the arms of my angel. He laughed through tears and pointed to the bed sheets.
“Thank you, they kept me going.” He said running his finger over the lyrics to a song he had written years ago. “I was walking in darkness, not sure what to do and wondering if I was still needed or if I was allowed to leave yet. I could sense your agony, pain and need for me. I was called back by this. Knowing it wasn’t my time yet.” He squeezed my hand. I bit down on my lip
“Damn right you’re not allowed to leave!! I need you more than you think! You keep me sane, you keep me here and more importantly you keep me human” I muttered as I slid onto his bed and curled up next to him. “No matter how damned you think you are, you’ll always be my angel in this living hell.”
