About anorexia (note: i don't have the illness myself).
You're beautiful-
her mother says,
i wouldn't lie
to my beautiful child.

I'm beautiful-
she tells herself,
those people don't count
that smirk and laugh.

She's beautiful-
she tells the mirror,
as she pokes at the fat
and pulls at her clothes.

How beautiful-
she thinks she's become,
as she admires her ribs
and touches her bones.

She was beautiful-
her relatives sob,
as the doctor's grim face
tells them of her mistakes.
