my favorite tree
Monarch of the prairie
you stand here all alone.
Home for squirrels and robins
and my shelter from the sun.

You bring snow in summer,
cotton flying all around.
A soft and fuzzy blanket
covers up the ground.

Underneath your branches
there's a place filled with peace.
I sit there and daydream
and write poems about trees.
