i wrote this as a tribute to all of the soldiers in our armed forces. thank you
just for clarification. I personally (unfortunatly) am not a soldier, i wanted to be but was disqualified for medical reasons. this is for everyone else in the military.

                                                    soldier

UP, DOWN
UP, DOWN

Those words are repeated thousands of times,
There is nothing we can do to get it out of our minds.

Breaking a sweat I run for it,
How in the world can I possibly finish it?

UP, DOWN
UP, DOWN

Straining working, harder and harder,
Doing everything I can to go farther.

My mind is racing, trying to figure out
Why did I choose to go this route?

UP, DOWN
UP, DOWN

The food is horrible, I can’t even eat
But I’m so tired, I sleep in my seat.

Get up early, go to sleep late
At least I got one thing straight.

UP, DOWN
UP, DOWN

Here it comes, that final moment,
Looking back I knew I was meant for it.

That final salute, a pin on the chest
We all think we are the best.

UP, DOWN
UP, DOWN

I am a soldier of my own free will
And nothing anyone does will keep me still.

Thank you to everyone who is serving, and who has served. You are the ones who keep America free!
