my unconditional choice
As a child and clear as dew; I’ll love you

As the girl in jeans you knew; I’ll love you

As a friend to share our dreams; I’ll love you

As someone with love that steams; I’ll love you

As something you can’t understand; I’ll love you

As the sweetheart who holds your hand; I’ll love you

Though the years are quiet and bear; I’ll love you

Though you’re near but far from there; I’ll love you

Though you can’t know who you are; I’ll love you

Whether you flop or you go far; I’ll love you

By the moon above my bed; I’ll love you

Though you haunt my aching head; I’ll love you

Though you lack the gift of grace; I’ll love you

Despite the tears upon my face; I’ll love you

Though I hate the things you’ve said; I’ll love you

Past all reason, with peace instead; I’ll love you

Past every season, time be shot; I’ll love you

Past any treason hidden or caught; I’ll love you

Past every line I’ve drawn you’ve stepped; I’ll love you

Past every promise made; broken or kept; I’ll love you

Past all the worry you might see; I’ll love you

No matter how angry I might be; I’ll love you

Over any mountain of pain and time; I’ll love you

Whether someone else’s or all mine; I’ll love you
