Caring for a friend desperate to find love
REFLECTION

Dearest friend I beg you do not despair
With all my heart for you I do care

Someone to love you is all you wish
To fold you in his arms and lay a gentle kiss

Despite your laughter – outwardly gay
Loneliness is something you can’t throw away

Endless friends cannot fill an empty heart
And from you feelings it’s hard to part

Behind your smile – loneliness you conceal
Longing for someone – your love to reveal

I know how you feel and with all my heart
I wish this emptiness from you would depart

So much love you have got to share
With no other feeling can this compare

Rest assured that soon he will appear
And whisper all those things you long to hear

And with the lightest touch caress your skin
Once again to open your heart you can begin

He will kiss you gently upon the cheek
Carry you across ecstasy, give you what you seek

You wonder at how I know you so well
And the secret I will gladly tell

I look into your eyes and see my own reflection
No need to ask or seek closer inspection

Dearest friend when you have shed your despair
I will all my heart continue to care
