poem about breaking the cycle of pain
"Disheveled Petals"

Taking the time to hurt me
Cut me down
Must have worn you out

Crushing the flower that
Lives inside me
Has become me
Is me

Using our words and my past
To make me feel small
Useless, always in doubt

Crushing the flower that
Lives inside me
Has become me
Is me

But, no more
No more will I let you
Make me scream and shout

The crushed little flower that
Lives inside me
Has become me...
Is me

Will heal despite you
And all that you did
All that you tried to do

The crushed little flower
Is just desheveled petals
Floating in water and wind

I won't let you hurt me anymore.
