Parents and kids think differently. This captures the tension between parents and kids.
Kids in the neighborhood going to school
Learning about societies rules
Reading their English and learning their math
Trying to find their own way to discover their path

Chorus: Kids in the neighborhood (repeated 4 times)

Science, Social Studies and Sex Education
Are tought to kids throughout our nation
Society tells them to be a success
Say this should be their primary quest

Chorus: Kids in the neighborhood (repeat 4 times)

Ya could'a, ya should'a, if only you would'a
Is all that we hear from parents and teachers
Their voices are talking, their yelling, their SCREAMING
But we can't hear them cause we're too busy dreaming

Chorus: Kids in the neighborhood (repeat 4 times)

Kids in the neighborhood going to school
Learning about societies rules
Reading their English ad learning their math
Trying to find their own way to discover their path

Chorus: Kids in the neighborhood (repeat 4 times)
