Poem written on occasion of my Dad's death
In Memory of Dad

Tough, unfaltering,
‘Compromise is a bad word, Son.’
He lead many modestly
With a wisdom, a light
Never dimmed, never wavering;
Always knew he was right,
And even if he wasn’t,
Convictions gave him strength,
Power to love without reserve,
Integrity to act without fear,
Humbleness to credit without being selfish.
‘I love you, I love you,’
He would say, sincere and sure,
He fought and cherished to the last.
Nothing else mattered to him,
Not even himself
Save those whom he had chosen to
Love.
He was so good,
He loved as a father should,
Censor, philosopher,
Bearer of gifts,
A richness not material,
A spirit magnanimous
Which will forever live on,
Surpassing time and space,
Springing eternal.
