H.S. sweethearts. 18 years later, a divorce for each, I saw Susan again one night...
Eighteen years
have come between
the places
    and the thoughts
I've been-
And all those thoughts
    and fears I've cried
were manifested deep inside!

    Eighteen years,
and now I find the woman formed-
the girl behind.
    Eighteen years!
    Can this be true?
The girl?
The woman?
Susan?
You?

Eighteen years, now here I am.
You never thought to meet the man.

Eighteen years?
...or a hundred more,
it's me I fear-
    here
outside your door!
