About a guy, like most poetry
And I'm sorry if you think I'm wrong
The road we chose took too damn long
It's so hard not to care
"Why is everything so unfair?"
And we can never find
Everything we left behind
I crossed my heart, you crossed the line
But don't worry, I'll be just fine

You're a nobody who knows somebody great
And I could pretend that you mean nothing to me
But you know, for me, it's always too late
But now I've got no choice
Fell into your eyes and lost my voice
I don't know what to say
And it doesn't matter anyway

I don't know what I can say
To get the things I need
I don't know what I can do
To make you feel it, too

Stupid me, stupid you
Stupid every time I dreamed of you
Stupid me, stupid you
Stupid every time I believed in you

The cruelest games are the ones you can't get out of your head
Like you dancing and laughing and all the things you said
All I really wanted was to see your smile one last time
But you're elusive and baffling and you'll never be mine

Stupid me, stupid you
Stupid everything you put me through
Stupid me, stupid you
Stupid everything I thought I knew
