The struggle with disease
Dancing with the Devil

I sit here staring at this bottle and begin to think
What is with you and why do I continue to drink
Just another look at your bottom as the last drink I took
All the way down into the fiery pits of hell, I fell, into your pit
Staring at you in amazement in the way you sit
I faced a lot of addictions, battled, and won
Now I can’t seem to shake you, you weigh a ton
Such a heavy burden to lift, another one of the devils gifts
The next morning distorted, I attempt to sift
Through the memories you gave to me
It’s a coma that I must get through and see
That the devil has taken control again
Filled me with a battle of rage and sins
Wanting to know why it is I continue to dance
As I look, I have been given another glance
Deep inside you and I still can’t divide you
From the top of the bottle I start
All the way to the bottom like a blinded dart
Sinking fast now like a misguided missile
Sorting through blurred memories with out a stencil
Out of control, no where to go
This is my last chance to show, so much for the after glow
NO one there to tell me when to stop, just the last drop
There is nothing like this dance with the devil
It just leaves me standing alone, on another level
This bloody war with addiction
This is a real condition
I can’t stop drinking, no matter what the conviction.
