A poem about what one of my favorite cities once was and is now.
Once prairie where antelope roamed.
A place my late grandparents called home.
Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs.
Natural beauty, splendid things.
Now ugly suburban sprawl as far
as the eye can see.
Colorado Springs, what happened to thee?
