Christmas Night from Mary's point of view.
Placing the babe in a manger so cold,
Was not what she visioned the day she was told.

She’d bring forth the child that would save all the world;
She ached in her heart as she brushed back the curls.

“You deserve so much better that this,”
She whisper to him, then gave him a kiss.

“The journey ahead is not easy, I know;
Your burdens will come from friend and from foe.”

With tears in her eyes, she lifted her head;
And spoke of the boy in the make-shift bed.

“I thank you Father, for this bundle anew;
The grace you have sent is long overdue.”
