What the husband says-- to her and to himself.
SPOUSAL LIES

Do you love me? Yes I do.
[Though I would rather kill you.]

Am I sexy? You are great.
[You are just a lousy mate].

Am I fat? No darling, not.
[You are just a bulging pot].

Do you like my red gown new?
Great. [ Though uglier are few].

Do I sing well? Oh! So sweet.
[In fact, you don’t sing, you bleat].

How is my cooking? Superb.
[It’s a sentence without verb].

The above and much, much more
Are the lies husbands endure.
