separation of church and state and why we do it and why we must keep it
Religion and politics have always been intertwined with each other. Since the dawn of time religion and politics have been one with each other. It is only recently that government is starting to see the problems with religion being in politics. We have seen and read horrible things that happen when religion is involved with politics it usually ends up with death as the ending result. In American politics it is just the same. It is so touchy that no one wants to touch it but it is one of those issues that must be touched for the sake of this country and probably for the sake of other countries. Our country’s past is drenched in blood of many innocence people because of religious beliefs. The topic of religion and politics has been seen in courts, violence, and the Founding Fathers. The Founding Fathers remembered a place of death and hate when it came to religion in government, which is why they fought to see it become separated. The modern legal concept of religious freedom in the United States is the union of freedom of belief and freedom of worship with the absence of any state-sponsored religion.
