My response to New Year wishes.
THANKS FOR NEW YEAR GREETINGS: a sonnet

Thanks for sending me your New Year greetings,
Though after seeing sixty six New Years,
Happy New Year wishes are sweet nothings.
About future I don’t have any fears.

Those days are gone when I did look forward
To get greeting cards or some lovely gifts.
Now each day does slowly take me toward
The gate from which finally man exits.

The recent years have truly made me sad
As countries have been bombed on false pretext
That WMD secretly they had
Though the USA knew it’s not a fact.

Let’s hope New Year brings new peace in the world.
Let’s hope nations and men follow God’s word.
