Sierra Sojourn

Smartly packing for a scenic trip
Then hitting the road to catch a train. 
My spirit is soaring among the wispy clouds,
Bright sunshine and gentle breezes.
I arrive at the station with ticket in hand,
Ready to board.
The locomotive train arrives momentarily,
With riders climbing up the steep steps
To their awaiting seats.
The party begins as the train departs from the busy station.

A beer is popped, and a lively band
Plays a mixture of pop, soul, and jazz.
The party train rolls through mountain scenes
And vast outlets of water,
Crossing bridges spanning huge and tiny gorges
And valleys.
The trip is long in hours, but not dull or drab -
Time is spent reading magazines and books,
Drinking and smoking,
And dancing to upbeat and lively tunes.
As we approach the city of casino games
And fun, the anxious passengers peer
Out the windows,
Looking forward to an evening
Of further fun and festivities.
The Reno fun train arrives,
And the passengers disembark.
In a few short, fun-filled days,
We will re-board the fun train
For the long, but not dull,
Journey home.
