Reading words to you
When minutes flipped over
Your smile came,
Like a birthday box
In rainbow ribbons.
Your eyes met
The sun in the beginning
And you welcomed
The Wonder,
You were still there.
A cannon of sorrow
Perished from your heart,
As you said, you were going to go,
And I curled my earlobes in.
I honored to clench your hand,
Until it was all red and I faded
Like pen's ink on paper.
Know your picture was passed,
And never will be ripped.
When minutes flipped over
Your smile came,
Like your special sugar
In those cookies still
Laying on the window bench.
