One of the many prologue's I have written for this story. Please tell me what you think
The lakes water was dancing around the youth’s feet. Aapel’s toes were wrinkled and numb, but as he stared out onto the distant horizon, his thoughts were elsewhere. Along with his heart, they lay with a noble girl whom he thought of as his beloved. Kaia, her fiery crown of gold and her eyes, sparkling and mystical, a brilliant amethyst in colour.

His thoughts turned to the emptiness of the space that no matter how hard he tried could never heal. Avra’s foul mother, Jacelyn was the cause, the driving force behind Kaia’s misery. She had ruined her daughter’s life and now she had started on Kaia’s as well. But no matter how much she was persuaded, Kaia refused to become a part of her grandmother’s twisted masquerades and further allow it to taint her spirit. Uisso could make eyes at her all evening yet still she would ignore his disturbed fascinations and refuse his sleazy offers of company. This fire in her heart, the flame of her soul, was the reason for Aapel’s apparent attraction for her. She just didn’t see it…
