As the title says, but adrift where and why?
I closed my eyes for a second,
it grew to years.
it was the color of a broken heart,
faded to gray.

The tide sweeps in,
taking me in its current to its depths,
I willingly give in to the precarious.

The world becomes a womans defenses while in love,
crumbled.
She said, "Leave the light on."

Wake up,
wake up.

The sand caressed my toes,
sipping the sunshine,
I found compromise.

The moon rose in plot to overthrow the sun.
The sun ran,
and the night bird sang big.

I stood at the edge of time,
hoping for a pause
so I could
take steps back.
