An old lady remembers...
I remember a day,
So many years ago now,
When I would play,
Games I don’t remember how,

I remember a face,
Full of laughter and joy,
In a sun-filled place,
With a home-made toy,

I can still see you,
As we would spin and call,
Can you see me too?
Now I just trip and fall.

It was so long ago,
A young child’s smile,
Not marred by worldly foe,
And hidden guile,

My joy-filled face,
Left me many years back,
Lost in lifes race,
Trying to get the inside track,

Now im wrinkled and grey,
And I sit in my chair,
I go back to that day,
And your sun-shining hair.
